Use AWS Hardened Images as a controlled Linux foundation within an ACSC Essential Eight implementation and maturity program.
Where the framework sits.
The ACSC Essential Eight is a set of prioritized mitigation strategies with maturity expectations. A hardened operating-system image can support parts of the technical baseline but cannot satisfy the program by itself.
Where Hardened Images fits.
Hardened Images can reduce configuration variation at the Linux layer while the organization implements application control, patching, identity, backup, monitoring, and the other measures across the environment.
